NoMad Diner & Bar, Arlo NoMad

Inside the Arlo NoMad hotel, Stonehill Taylor reimagined the classic New York diner, blending 1950s nostalgia with the character of the surrounding Fashion District. The firm paired brown-and-chrome color palettes with warm oak paneling and leather, using retro bar stools, leather banquettes, and a bold-veined stone bar top to evoke whimsical sophistication rather than pure pastiche. Industrial concrete floors are offset by warm millwork, and materials pull cues from streetwear and the neighborhood's fashion-driven identity. The project's success led to a companion rooftop bar, extending the same design language upward: a colorful, laid-back space channeling European café culture through a New York lens, with a completely reimagined seating plan anchored by back-to-back banquettes and framed by greenery to create intimacy against open skyline views
