This book challenges traditional notions of identity and societal norms by exploring an alternate reality where identification serves as a means of liberation. By inverting the typical relationship between self and society, In Search of a Haven presents a thought-provoking vision for a world with less emphasis on conformity and more focus on individuality and freedom.
In a thought-provoking concept, In Search of a Haven envisions a world where identification is not a tool for control, but rather a means to achieve liberation. The brainchild of designers Ahmad Hammoud and Mariana I. Solís, this innovative project brings its thesis to life through an array of visual elements, including maps, graphs, and references to biological structures, all set against a striking monochrome backdrop.
The creative duo behind In Search of a Haven hail from different corners of the world. Ahmad Hammoud, hailing from Cairo, Egypt, brings his Middle Eastern perspective to the table, while Mariana I. Solís, born in Tijuana, Mexico, contributes her Latin American viewpoint. This diverse background is reflected in the project's design, as the two designers weave together disparate elements to create a unique and captivating visual language.
The concept of liberation through identification challenges traditional notions of identity and control. By exploring this idea through a visually striking and thought-provoking medium, In Search of a Haven invites the viewer to reconsider their relationship with borders and personal identity. The monochrome finish adds a sense of cohesion and unity to the project, underscoring the themes of simplicity and liberation that underpin its design.
